The label "Green Key" guarantees a stay more eco-citizen. Following the records of visits and technical evaluators Green Key, Label for 2010 has been recognition awarded by the jury convened November 12, 2009.

Revalued each year, the label covers six environmental areas:

This label is intended to educate consumers about the environmental quality of the area chosen as a holiday, while conveying a positive image hosting. It is found in a number of guides and holiday brochures.
The Green Key is an international program of environmental education.
Based on fundamental principles of fair use of natural resources and routines responsible for preserving the environment, it helps to satisfy customers share sensitive nature protection, and other professionals concerned reconcile, quality service delivery and reducing environmental impacts.
The award criteria evolutionary ensure the maintenance of environmental management performance.
In 1994, Denmark set up the label "The Green Key. Subsequently adapted and implemented on the French territory by the Foundation for Environmental Education (which runs between the other Blue Flag), it rewards today tourist structures for their action in environmental matters. Eco-tourism is everyone's business: the owners of gites, campsites or hotels, their teams and guests undertake to preserve wildlife through simple gestures. More than 550 institutions in 12 countries in Europe and North Africa have obtained the label in 2009.
The Green Key process is voluntary, positive and continuing to the development of responsible environmental management in tourist accommodation. The winning schools are visited by ambassadors of the Green Key before being awarded the label by a jury composed of institutional, consumer, professionals, technicians and communication organizations.

The Green Key label 2010 has been assigned to our 2 cottages in The English House: Side Side Terrace and Garden.
We had not applied for the cottage La Petite Maison.

Information on sites and natural areas in the region, awareness of eco-responsible behavior in daily life, promote products derived from organic and local produce, information on leisure activities for non-aggressive environment, presentation eco-system around the gites (garden, river, cliffs ...).
